The New Millennial Cancer

Socialization can be anything from being good, necessary, to being evil depending on what each individual or institution perceive. As in the words of the famous or infamous Adolf Hitler:
“through clever and constant application of propaganda, people can be made to see paradise as hell, and vice versa to consider the most wretched sort of life as paradise.”- Adolf Hitler.

The aggravated absent mindedness people suffer from as soon as they get online, as they get sucked into a world of sublime lies, fabrication and fantasies; reminds me that socialization has ceased to be a matter of where one comes from but what one is exposed to. With media taking over almost every little remains of what was once called culture, culture itself is no longer of significance. I do not seek to anciently react to how people dress, talk or eat but my primary concern has always ascended when people start living a lie which I’ve coined “the new millennial cancer.”

I realized that anyone and everyone are capable of living a lie and that the biggest challenge in this millennium is being yourself in a world that is trying to make you like everyone else.
The following goes out to all those who live a life to impress; those who live a life without the ‘f’; those who adhere to society’s selfish demands; those who would rather be a somebody in people’s eyes and a nobody in real life; those who live an impeccable life onstage and on the spotlight when in fact there is chaos behind the scenes; to the beautiful dark skinned ladies who boldly sit on the yellow throne due to lack of knowledge on the real meaning of reality.

Unfortunately for some the consequences are more physical and therefore irreversible but for the majority of those trying to play mind games and going the extra-psycho mile to convince the society that they are the real deal and are actually living the real life deriding the fact that the only real life is the life that is presented as it is, filter-free.

Resolved; always be yourself. Never try to hide the real you. The only shame is to have shame so always stand up for what you believe in relentlessly. Never regret the past. It’s a waste of time. Let it sink in that there is a reason for everything, every mistake, every moment of weakness, every terrible thing that has happened to you, and grow from it.
From now going forward, screw “perfect.”
"Forget for a while about what kind of person you want to be, and just be the best version of the person you are."- Lord Vito
As you grow into consciousness, my wish for you is that you feel no need to constrict yourself to make other people contented.

I gave up my struggle with perfection a long time ago because it became a concept I don’t find very interesting anymore. Everyone just wants to look good in the photographs, portray the celebrities and make it seem like they have an awesome life which is where most of the pressure comes from. Be happy, be yourself and bear in mind that life is about a lot more than impressing the next person and play-acting.

Be real in a world that’s trying to make you a living lie. Be yourself and start drenching in the pit of happiness. Elevate your self-consciousness and let the positivity flow within you. Eventually your happiness will cultivate a much happier environment for the next person and the world will slowly but surely become a better place as it were.

What Is Love?

"I thought it was love all along until it ended."- Lord Vito I have come to the realization that Love is the greatest emotion of all and apparently the greatest mystery to mankind. How is this so? Apparently “what is love?” was the most searched phrase on Google in 2012 meaning as much as we might want to believe we have known and experience love for a long time, we haven’t come to the absolute truth about love but have been only able to come up with theories to explain what love is based on different perceptions as it were. Arguing from a biological perspective, physician Jim Al-Khalili asserts that:  “love is chemistry.”- Jim Al-Khalili He further argues that love is a powerful neurological condition like hunger or thirst, only more permanent. When we say love is blind or unconditional, we are subscribing to the theory that love is chemistry since the basis of the notion love is blind or unconditional is the simple fact that we h

HOW SOCIAL MEDIA IS KILLING YOUR RELATIONSHIP

To us millennials, social media has become part of our life-package and ceased to be the mere privilege and a means of social connection it ought to be. While social media has the potential to beautify our day-to-day relationships, it also has the ability to cause great damage, particularly in our relationships. Social media can become an addiction. Frankly, I am on Whatsapp, Instagram, Twitter or Facebook throughout the day, partly because I am a blogger and need to stay abreast but the other part of me just loves seeing newsfeeds and stories from various people (some I don’t even know in person). I am curious about their lifestyle and how they spend their time which got me realizing that this can be a hazardous place to be. One minute you’re looking at the #ManCrushMonday hashtag on Instagram, and the next moment you take your eyes of the screen, it’s three years later, you’ve suffered a major heartbreak and you’re lonely despite the endless friend-lists or the infinite scroll

Think outside the box

You have probably heard the phrase “Think outside the box!” or came across the phrase in literature at least once in your lifetime. The expression has become a mantra frequently quoted in various institutions with the intention to encourage imaginative thinking, creativity and innovation. We have been subjected to a comfort zone characterized by familiar and linear routines which “boxes” our minds. I have always wondered, why think outside the box? Then I came across a quote that read “there are many ways to kill a cat” and then I thought to myself “that’s it.” We have to realize the importance of breaking through the status quo and the decades-old approaches to life, problem solving and strategizing thus this article’s primary intention. Resolved, one has to think outside the box because there are many ways to kill a cat. Inside the box which are the different societies we live in, there are set norms for us to believe from a tender age such that we cannot act or think contra
